Since its inception, The Division has grown to become one of Ubisoft's most successful franchises. It has garnered over 40 million players, with The Division 2 still being played by thousands of players every day even four years after its launch.
More importantly, The Division has shown the potential to expand its storytelling and gameplay formula, unlike some other Ubisoft franchises that have become creatively stale.
Recently, Ubisoft quietly announced The Division 3, which was received quite positively by the community. The studio has also hinted at expanding the franchise beyond video games, and it's clear it envisions a bright future for this franchise.
However, The Division 3 isn't the only Division game on the horizon. Ubisoft has previously announced a few more projects that are targeting a different set of audiences and platforms. If you're curious, here are all the Division games currently in development.

Every The Division Game Currently in Development
The Division Heartland
- Release Date: 2024
- Platforms: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
The Division Heartland is a third-person survival shooter that works primarily as an extraction shooter with high-risk, high-reward style gameplay. It's a free-to-play title set in a rural American town, which contrasts the metropolis open-world setting of the mainline Division games.
Like the Dark Zone in those games, The Division Heartland offers a PvPvE game experience. It works a bit differently, though, as you explore and scavenge resources in the daytime and battle other players and enemy factions at night.
The Division Resurgence
- Release Date: Early 2024
- Platforms: iOS, and Android
The Division Resurgence is a free-to-play mobile featuring a brand new storyline and campaign. Like Division 1, it takes place in New York City and features PvE and PvP activities.
The Division Resurgence is a full-fledged Division experience except on mobile platforms. You can expect similar customization options, loot-driven third-person combat, and the infamous Dark Zone to be the core experience of the game.
The Division 3
- Release Date: TBC
- Platforms: TBC
The Division 3 is the next mainline entry in The Division franchise, led by Julian Greighty, the newly appointed executive producer for the Division franchise.
As of this writing, there's no info available on The Division 3, except that it will be developed by Massive Entertainment. The studio is also working on other AAA projects like Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Star Wars Outlaws, so Division 3 is likely years away.
That's all the Division games currently in development.
