Bad news, Agents. The next story DLC for The Division 2 isn't coming out until 2025. Ubisoft confirmed the news in a new live stream that also revealed details about Project Resolve, a massive QOL update coming to the game next year.
In addition to this, Ubisoft laid out a revised 2024 roadmap for The Division 2, which also highlighted the release window for the upcoming year 5 season 3 Vanguard.
The most interesting and sadly the most unfortunate news coming out of this is the delay of Division 2's highly anticipated story DLC, which, as mentioned above, has been pushed back to 2025.
Although a live-service title with a seasonal model, The Division 2 doesn't receive story expansions as frequently as some other popular games of the genre, like Destiny 2 and Warframe.
The last major expansion for The Division was Warlords of New York, which, although received positively by critics and fans alike, was released back in 2020. Since then, Division 2 hasn't received a single expansion-style update, and it looks like it won't until 2025. While this may disappoint many Division 2 players, the silver lining is that Ubisoft isn't giving up on the game anytime soon.
Speaking of Division, Ubisoft casually confirmed The Division 3 earlier this year in a press release. As of this writing, it has no trailer nor a release window and is likely years away. With Division 2's next expansion set to release in 2025, players probably shouldn't expect Division 3 to arrive at least until 2026.
Fortunately, Ubisoft has two separate Division games lined up for 2024. The Division Resurgence is a whole new Division experience for mobile devices, whereas The Division Heartlands is a free-to-play extraction shooter for consoles and PCs.
