Texas Chain Saw Massacre Will Get Patches Much Less Often

Texas Chain Saw Massacre will get patches less frequently, developers announced on X/Twitter. The new patch schedule will move from updates every two weeks, to updates every month.

Developers Gun Interactive explained that the two-week cycle was necessary to implement major changes like the Skill Tree rework, Grandpa Perk changes, and new cosmetics. With the new monthly cycle, though, developers will have more time to work on patches.

"The longer time in between patches does not mean that we will stop taking in community feedback, and as always, this does not affect any needed hotfixes that may come up between patches," developers confirmed.

Check out the full details on the patch schedule just below:

"Year Two of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and the Content Pass marks a new shift for how we will be rolling out content and game updates,"  developers explained. "With this new era, we feel this is the best way to proceed forward, while keeping up the flow of incoming new content."

This isn't the first time Gun has called this recent shift in content a "new era" for the TCSM game. Earlier this month, the studio announced the game's new Content Pass, which CEO Wes Keltner said on social media includes "a new map, new mode, new era for Texas Chain Saw Massacre."

While developers say that the new patch schedule will improve the game, some fans aren't happy with the changes. Some say it'll likely result in longer times before bugs are fixed, while others have pointed out that many fans would prefer shorter times between patches due to the "major number of unresolved issues."

For now, Texas Chain Saw Massacre is back on a monthly update schedule, so fans will need to wait a bit longer than before between updates. It's possible that this could change in the future based on the game's needs and fan feedback, but Gun hasn't made any subsequent announcements thus far.
