Texas Chain Saw Massacre announced that it will rework Grandpa perks, likely largely switching up the game's meta. Perks will no longer be in a single tier, but will instead be separated into different level categories; those levels are tied to Grandpa's Family Bond Level.
For example, players could bring a Level One perk that activates when Grandpa reaches level one, or a Level Three perk that would remain inactive until he reaches Level Three. If a whole team of players only brought Level Three perks, none of them would activate until he reaches Level Three.
The changes will likely encourage players to feed Grandpa more, thus increasing his role in the match. "We wanted Grandpa to play a bigger role in each match and we are excited to see how Family players strategize their builds accordingly," Gun Interactive said.
Grandpa's new perk tiers are as follows:
Level One |
|
Level Two |
|
Level Three |
|
"The team has been working on how to make Grandpa perks function differently in game," the blog post said. "We aim to both freshen up gameplay and give more utility to feeding Grandpa, a mechanic that hasn’t quite hit the mark we intended."
The updates come shortly after Texas Chain Saw Massacre overhauled Skill Trees, changing up Victim and Family perks.
The Grandpa perks overhaul update will go live on 16 July.
