Escape from Tarkov provides a dazzling experience visually and mentally, whether you're looking across the open lands of Shoreline from the top of a hospital or simply engaged in combat, Escape from Tarkov delivers. However, the performance of your PC system will dictate whether or not that scenario is immersive if your frames per second are low, so is your immersion.
With the rise in popularity and new players taking interest, more and more people are hopping onto Escape from Tarkov. Not everybody is fortunate enough to own an RTX 4090 build, meaning people often refer to the minimum system requirements and information on their PC's performance.
This guide will provide you insight into whether or not your PC will run the game adequately, terribly, or perfectly. Having played Escape from Tarkov myself on three separate builds, budget, mid-spec, and high-end, I personally understand the frustrations and insights into gaming Escape from Tarkov on a low-end PC, hopefully guiding you into making the right decision on purchasing trying to run the game.

Minimum Requirements - In Our Experience
In my experience when owning a similar build to the minimum requirements - 8GB RAM, GTX 750, and an i5 6400 2.7GHz - my performance struggled due to RAM-related issues.
Escape from Tarkov would stutter and freeze regularly on larger-scale maps such as Customs, Shoreline, and Interchange. Once upgrading my RAM from 8GB to 16GB, my troubles were solved and I was able to play the game confidently on low and medium configurations at around 45-60fps. If you're wanting to record gameplay on minimum requirements, it would be recommended that you don't due to poor performance, ruining in-game experiences.
Escape from Tarkov has improved significantly in optimizing its game for performance on older maps such as Interchange, Customs, Woods, and Shoreline. However, players with budget and low-spec PCs will struggle in newer larger maps such as Streets of Tarkov and Lighthouse.
If you decide to continue purchasing the title with the minimum requirements, you will most likely struggle to fully immerse yourself in the game. Obtaining low FPS and in-game stutters, low-end PC owners are typically used to this and thrive despite their disadvantages.
Personally, I would recommend similar minimum PC specifications:
- 10GB RAM 2133MHz +
- GTX 950 2GB
- Quad-core processor 2.4 GHz (Intel Core 2 Duo, i3), 2.6 GHz (AMD Athlon, Phenom II)
These specifications will confidently get you through the Tarkov experience comfortably. Although you won't be able to put a 144hz monitor to good use, you'll maintain the immersion and experience you desire, not being disadvantaged by your PC set-up.
