How to Investigate the Anomaly in Starfield

Are you confused about how to investigate the Anomaly in Starfield? At the end of the main quest, Into the Unknown, you will find yourself on the desolated snowcapped planet Procyon III with no direction on where to go except an objective that says to investigate the Anomaly.

Sadly, it's easier said than done, especially since the game doesn't really hint at how to proceed. If you're just as confused as we were when we first entered this area, fret not. Here's our guide, which explains how to investigate the Anomaly in Starfield. 

Investigating the Anomaly in Starfield

Before you can investigate the Anomaly, you have to find the Temple ETA. After landing on Procyon III, use the scanner, and you will notice a distortion, a white circle glitch on the screen. Keep walking in the direction where the distortion is more, and you will soon stumble upon the Temple ETA. 

Once inside the Temple ETA, interact with these sparking lights floating in the air. Flowing through these lights will change the background music, which is a cue that you're onto something. Continue interacting with these lights to activate the mysterious artifact in the room.

The lights will spawn randomly across the room, and you have to interact with them a couple of times to fully charge the artifact. As soon as one appears, rush towards it as it disappears in a few seconds. Once you have interacted with enough sparkling lights, the artifact will be charged. Use the interact button to trigger a cutscene and finish the quest.
