It's been around a month since developer Massive Entertainment released their action-adventure game Star Wars Outlaws for consoles and PCs, as players continue to reexplore the Outer Rim. As there's always something new or exciting to discover in subsequent replays of this galactic adventure, Scoundrels have found something new regarding one in-game feature.
Star Wars Outlaws does indeed feature a Fast Travel system, which allows Kay Vess and her adorable companion, Nix, to travel between locations seamlessly once those points have been unlocked. Recently, a Reddit thread went viral, and one player detailed an extended capability of the Fast Travel system; however, it does come at a cost.
This mechanic has heavily been featured through games over the decades, as the Fast Travel system allows players to quickly (and safely) travel to various teleport points within a game's World Map without having to use other means of transportation in real-time. The Fast Travel system is very much in play for Star Wars Outlaws as Scoundrels become aware of this feature after arriving in Mirogana City on the planet Toshara of which they can begin seeking out the various Fast Travel points on the planet and across others as they progress the storyline through the quests.
A Reddit thread, which was posted to the Star Wars Outlaws subreddit almost a week ago, has recently caught the attention of the community in which its original poster (OP), MapleSurpy, explained their recent traveling discovery. According to their post, Scoundrels can utilize the Fast Travel system to travel to other locations and planets via the map without needing to be in the front seat of their ship, the Trailblazer.
"If you go to your map and zoom out multiple times you get to the galaxy, then go zoom in on the planet you want and select a fast travel point you wish to go to, hit that fast travel button and you load right there," the original poster added. While we can confirm that, we would like to add that players can also Fast Travel to their Speeder if left in the open world; it is only possible if they've unlocked the Fast Travel points for these locations before setting off.
Fellow Scoundrels responded to the Reddit post, expressing their surprisement how convenient this small detail is, especially when in orbit (yes, you can use this feature in space while aboard the Trailblazer); some have added that repeatedly using it may disrupt their immersion and enjoyment of the game. One Scoundrel, in particular, revealed how its overuse might result in players missing fun details if they haven't recognized them during their current playthrough of Star Wars Outlaws.
"PSA if you do this, you miss a lot of fun chatter, like Nix chewing on something and being scolded for it," Redditor Deminox added. While granted, there may be a few details, like missed dialogue or fun interactions that occur in the background, another Redditor commented that these details and interactions do repeat themselves, so if they've heard them once before, they won't be missing anything new that will occur the next time they encounter it in-game.
