Whether during quests, exploring the massive open world environments, or traversing in orbit, Kay Vess may accidentally or intentionally find herself a target in the eyes of the Galactic Empire. This usually occurs whenever Kay commits or engages in illegal activities, for which the Empire will impose a Wanted Status, in which Kay must do everything humanly possible to clear her name or increase its level if they're brave.

There are a few known ways in which Kay can clear her Wanted Status if this is an option they wish to endeavor, and they are mostly straightforward to accomplish. This guide will help players determine how to clear their Wanted Status, how to view it, and the active level in Star Wars Outlaws.

How To Clear The Wanted Status In Star Wars Outlaws?

Kay will encounter instances where she may have invoked the wrath of the Imperial forces, whether getting caught in their restricted areas, lockpicking terminals, doors, and more inside Imperial bases or attacking Stormtroopers, which will find her in quite the pickle. These actions will, unfortunately, see Kay receiving a Wanted Status, which the Imperial will send their best men to track and hunt down Kay wherever she may be in the Outer Rim.

It's important to note that the Wanted Status is exclusive to the Empire and does not apply to the crime syndicates, so whatever illegal activities Kay engages in within Imperial territory bears no influence on the syndicates. There are six increasingly challenging levels, according to Creative Director Julien Gerieghty; however, should the Wanted Status level get higher, more powerful troopers will be coming after Kay.

There are a few ways for Kay to clear the Wanted Status, which applies to most levels, with the exception of the final level. Hiding and evading the scene (and Stormtroopers) is the easiest and most straightforward way to clear the Wanted Status, especially for the lower levels, as keeping out of sight for an extended period will have them call off the search and abandon the hunt.

Another option players may have is to bribe a corrupt Imperial Officer, of which the earliest officer they can find is on Toshara near the Merkal's Gambling Parlor in Mirogana City. Their location is marked on the map, making it easy to find or track them if needed; interacting with the officer will demand a specific amount of Credits to pay, and they'll get to work on clearing Kay's name.

The third way to clear the Wanted Status is to hack or Slice an Imperial terminal, which is located on the map once discovered by being within its vicinity. These terminals are great for any Wanted level; however, they're often guarded by Imperial Officers and Stormtroopers, so employing stealth tactics to locate the terminal and take down enemies quietly would be best advised.

Slicing will demand plenty of time and patience, and as long as they're quiet or haven't been noticed, they'll be able to hack the terminal successfully. The last option is when they're in orbit within the Trailblazer, as a few satellites can be hacked to clear the Wanted Status.

While they may be susceptible to dogfights with TIE Fighters while in orbit, hacking the Imperial Satellites is similar to the terminals they'll find on the planets. However, they are more challenging as they must hack the satellite uninterrupted and be as close to it as possible until a prompt appears on-screen, allowing them to hack it.

Where To View The Wanted Status In Star Wars Outlaws?

Kay is likely to gain a Wanted Status while exploring the open world, wandering the major cities, or when in orbit; how players can determine whether they have a Wanted Status will first be indicated on-screen with the word "Wanted" emblazed. It's up to players to decide which of the aforementioned options would be best applicable to the situation at hand, with hacking satellites being the best option if Kay commits illegal activities while in orbit.

The Wanted level symbol will remain on-screen in the top left corner and will stay there until they've managed to clear the Wanted Status using any of the abovementioned options. It's worth mentioning that three Achievements are associated with the Wanted Status to unlock by meeting its requirements: the It Wasn't Me, The Heavier They Fall, and They Live Up To The Name Achievements.

The It Wasn't Me achievement requires players to bribe an Imperial Officer to clear their Wanted Level 5 status; The Heavier They Fall can be earned by defeating a Raider to clear the Wanted status, and the They Live Up To The Name achievement can be unlocked after completing a Death Trooper confrontation event. The latter achievement is tied to the Wanted level 6, which we'll explain in a separate guide in the best tips for completing this encounter successfully.
