Whether it be completing quests, tasks, and activities or exploring vast environments, accidents occasionally occur, which could be detrimental to Kay Vess. These could result in Kay getting caught, eliminating enemies, or accidentally falling, completely depleting her maximum health and respawning her at the last saved checkpoint.

Fall damage is inevitable, but luckily for players, there are a few tips and tricks to cushion Kay's fall without needing to reach out for a Bacta Vial. We've compiled valuable information to help players prevent Kay from taking massive amounts of fall damage in Star Wars Outlaws.

How To Reduce Fall Damage In Star Wars Outlaws? Tips & Tricks

It's safe to say that there have been a handful of instances where players have accidentally jumped or walked off platforms, cliffs, scaffolding, and, unfortunately, while using the Grappling Hook. It can also occur due to delayed button or key inputs, graphic, and latency issues, which have happened a few times, and there's nothing more annoying than a slight misstep before falling to Kay's grizzled demise.

As hilarious as these occurrences may be, falling to an untimely demise will deplete Kay Vess' HP bar, but there are a few ways to mitigate this, from toggling settings to acquiring a few essential items to prevent it from happening. The first way to prevent Kay from taking significant fall damage is to do the opposite: increase her max HP; in this way, she won't be required to replenish her HP using Bacta Vials too frequently.

One way is to toggle with a specific in-game setting, which is located under Gameplay from the Pause Menu, and look for the "Fall Protection" setting under "Movement." Having this setting enabled will prevent Kay seconds from disaster or her demise as it will stop her movement if she gets too close to an edge; however, it's not applicable while running and sprinting, which, in this case, jump.

The earliest method to increase her max HP is through the Expert system, following the Armoured Undershit ability progression. This can be tracked under Bram Shano, The Bartender Expert, from the Abilities tab; this ability increases Kay's max health and can be completed by acquiring eight Coarseweave and one Ironweave material; tailor merchants sell the latter.

The next way, which also increases Kay's max HP, is by acquiring the Copalroot Bead Charm from a specific merchant somewhere in Toshara. This Minor Charm also increases Kay's max HP; although somewhat slightly, it's enough to get players through the Toshara content until the Hyperspace quest.

This charm can be purchased from Chrissanta Palus, a Survivalist merchant located north of Typhon's Rock; players can get this charm for 1,000 Credits. Don't forget that Sopashi Farm is nearby, where they can pick up the Data Cylinder Minor Charm, so collect that after visiting Chrissanta.

Lastly, another charm can be acquired to decrease damage from falling off cliffs, platforms, scaffolding, or accidents when using the Grappling Hook, also in the Typhon's Rock area. The Tooka Paw Minor Charm "greatly reduces fall damage except from extreme heights," which is quite the niched requirement, but it does prevent Kay from losing HP when falling as long as it's not from a great distance.

To find it, travel to Typhon's Rock, scale the walls from the north side of the road leading to the location, and rappel up before climbing another stone wall. Wrap around the cliff to its right side until they spot two rocks beside each other, where they must climb up the closest rock, jump across both rocks and grapple down to reach the chest with the charm inside.
