Skyrim: Anniversary Edition comes stacked with new content thanks to the 74 Creation Club mods bundled into it. Amongst numerous old Creation Club mods, there are also 26 of them which are brand new, created just for the Anniversary Edition.
One of them will let you manage your own farmstead, as a part of the Farming Creation Club content pack, which also introduces "The Unquiet Dead" quest into the game.
This intriguing quest poses quite a riddle for players, as a seemingly simple chain of tasks becomes problematic when you realize that Rin's body, which is a key part of the quest, is nowhere to be found.
If your idyllic life of a simple farmer in the heart of Whiterun is disrupted by being unable to complete this quest, then let's help you out.
Finding Goldenhills Plantation location
In order to trigger "The Unquiet Dead" quest, you will need to investigate Goldenhills Plantation, which is located just east of Rorikstead.
Keep in mind this content can have some compatibility issues, as numerous players are reporting that mods like Skyrim UI and others that alter Whiterun Hold can prevent the Goldenhills Plantation location from appearing on the map, leaving you to wander aimlessly while trying to find the Goldenhills Plantation.
If you are having trouble locating Goldenhills Plantation (you can see the exact location on the image above), it's most likely that it failed to spawn properly due to the aforementioned problems with mods. Try to uninstall some of the mods we've mentioned and see if that helps.
If you've successfully found the Goldenhills Plantation location, you will immediately realize that something is seriously wrong here. First, you will see a few dead bodies scattered in front of a house, and soon after a ghost will charge aggressively towards you.
Upon dealing with the ghost, "The Unquiet Dead" quest will start. Make sure to read the note next to the body in front of the house before proceeding into the house, as the quest will bug out if you don't do it in that order.
There are several journals inside the house to read. Starting from the basement, where you will find a secret button - hidden behind some barrels right of the basement's entrance - press it. A secret room will be revealed and a ghost will attack you. Take the ghost out, find Jonquil's journal on the Alchemy Lab table, and make sure to read it.
When you are done with the basement, head to the first floor (or second if you are an American), where you will find Urva's journal on a work table. Read it and then search for Rin's diary, which is located under his bed. Now when you have found and read all of the journals, head back outside.
Rin's body location in The Unquiet Dead quest
Immediately upon leaving the house, looking straight from the entrance, you will see four oddly-shaped trees, two big in the middle and two smaller ones on the sides. Go there, and right behind them, you will find a well and a child's skeleton. Search the skeleton and pick a wooden sword next to him, named Rin's Toy Sword. Absolutely be sure to read Rin's diary first, otherwise, the quest will glitch out.
Now head back to the farm to return the toy sword there. Enter the house and place the sword on a dresser in a room right of the entrance, which will make the ghost family reappear, but this time peacefully to thank you for helping them, and thus "The Unquiet Dead" quest is completed.
With this, our "The Unquiet Dead" quest guide is completed as well. Now you can enjoy your farming life on the Goldenhills Plantation, and you can even hire a steward to "oversee farm's day-to-day operation and purchase upgrades such as animal pens, windmills, apiaries and stables," s developers of explain.
