Packs with bent corners may be better than others, but does the theory hold up?

Pokemon TCG Pocket fans have already potentially discovered a weird secret with the packs of trading cards, allowing players to get their hands on better cards more easily. The Pokemon TCG Pocket "Bent Corner" theory suggests that packs with bent corners at the top when you spin them to the right are more likely to contain coveted rare cards.

While many say they've gotten some great pulls from the packs with bent corners, not everyone has been so lucky. It's confirmed that not all bent corner packs contain a rare card, suggesting that it could be just RNG chance that players have been getting solid pulls from these unique packs. Or, it could be that bent corner packs just have a higher chance - but not a guarantee - of containing rare cards.

To test the bent corner theory, we opened 20 packs in Pokemon TCG Pocket - 10 of those packs were bent, while the other 10 were not. 6 of the bent packs contained a rare card, while only 5 of the non-bent packs contained a rare card. So, while this suggests that bent packs aren't much more likely, if at all, to contain a rare card - a larger sample size might reflect different results.

For now, the game's creators haven't confirmed anything about the bent corner theory one way or the other - and it seems pretty unlikely that they would, since the mystery is part of what keeps players opening pack after pack. Based on our quick test, it doesn't look like bent packs are that much more likely to contain one of those coveted EXs - but your mileage may vary, so it might be worth testing out the controversial theory for yourself.
