Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: Version 1.2 Update Details

Although Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have seen huge success upon its recent release, the game isn't perfect by many standards. To remedy this, the developers have released updates for the game to improve its quality, with the latest update for the game being the version 1.2 update.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet - Version 1.2 Update Release Date Window

As stated on the official Nintendo website, we can expect Pokémon Scarlet and Violet's 1.2 updates to drop around the end of February. While there isn't an official release day and time just yet, it's likely to be before the next Pokémon Day.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet - Version 1.2 Update Details

The new Pokémon Scarlet and Violet 1.2 update will be released in February of 2023 and is set to fix some of the bugs, lag, and fidelity issues that the game has suffered from since its release, according to Serebii.net on Twitter. Its also been noted that "added functionality" will be rolled out once the update arrives, though we're unsure what the added functionality will include at the time of writing.

Some of you may know that this is Nintendo's second update of the game, as the first one was released back in December of 2022. This update also focused on adding some fixes and additional content, but even then, Nintendo stated that players may still encounter some bugs and performance issues in the game, for which they formally apologized.

This caused many players to bemoan the game's constant issues even after getting the update, especially for those who saw potential in the game's new mechanics and a new story to tell. So it goes without saying that a new update was definitely expected, but even so, many players doubt that it will fix all the issues facing the game, even if it fixes some of them. 

The announcement of the new update came alongside the celebration of Pokémon reaching 1008 Pokémon across the entire franchise. And while some are hopeful that the new update will also be something to celebrate and bring the potential of Scarlet and Violet into the spotlight, others are skeptical that the update will fix the game's more broken aspects.
