The Season of Adventures Abound has introduced a few new Pokémon, returning events, and new features, including Routes and Showcases. While Trainers have been enjoying the new and returning content, Trainers have continued demanding a game mode that should’ve been included in the game at launch.
Niantic has teased and eventually confirmed that this long-awaited feature, Party Play, a cooperative mode, will be coming soon for Trainers to party up and play together. Here’s everything we know about Party Play, including how to join a party and gameplay details for Pokémon GO.
What Is Party Play In Pokémon GO?
Party Play is a four-Trainer co-op game mode that will be coming soon to Pokémon GO following a datamined leak in September 2023. Party Play lets Trainers create and join parties with other Trainers and enjoy their adventures together, from encountering wild Pokémon to participating in raids.
This cooperative mode is not the first time Niantic has worked on it, as they’ve introduced a similar feature for another Nintendo mobile game, Pikmin Bloom. Niantic officially confirmed this feature recently, and while official information has yet to be revealed, we are aware of a few essential details regarding gameplay and how to join this cooperative mode.
Pokémon GO Party Play: How To Create & Join A Party
As stated before, Party Play is a cooperative game mode that will arrive soon in Pokémon GO for players to join and play together. This game mode lets Trainers create or join a party with four Trainers max and play to earn rewards together.
Joining a party is relatively straightforward to achieve, as Trainers will need to be near the host of the party to join. If they're hosting a Party, the process of creating one is as easy as joining a Party, which can all be done in-game.
We've detailed below all the steps required for Trainers to create a Party in Pokémon GO:
- After launching the game, head to the Trainer profile and select the new Party tab
- Tap the Create button, and Trainers will receive one of two options: a numerical or QR code
- Trainers can either forward the numerical code to nearby Trainers or share the QR code, and let's get the party started!
Trainers, if you're looking to sync up with other Trainers in a PArty, here's how to join one in Pokémon GO:
- Launch Pokémon GO, navigate to the Trainer profile and select the new Party tab
- Tap the Join button, and Trainers are prompted to either enter a numerical or scan the QR code

Pokémon GO Party Play: Activity Summary
Once Trainers have joined a party, Trainers engage in various in-game activities, from participating in Raids, discovering new Routes, and a recent Party Play activity, Party Challenges. They can also view their current Party's activities by locating the Activity Summary, where they can find various stats and other important details
This can be found by heading to the Trainer Profile and tab the Party tab, where they'll find the Activity Summary tab. Trainers can find information under multiple categories, including Adventures, Battle, Pokémon, Throws, and General details, where they can also bookmark their favorite activities.
After joining a party, they can see other Party members on a map for which they can easily team up to finish various in-game activities. The map can also be quite valuable as Trainers can choose to share their current location with other party members.
