This quest is relatively straightforward to complete; however, it ties in with the previous owner of their Housing plot, which should be of interest. There are plenty of unique items to find within Rummage Piles, whether blueprints for the Kilima Rummage Piles Furniture Set, resources, or quests. While they can be found worldwide, they appear at one of the found locations randomly once a day before it resets at 4 am UTC daily.

One of these quests found from a Rummage Pile is the Walking On Broken Glass quest, for which they can open the chest to receive the quest. We’ve highlighted all the quest objectives to help players complete this quest in-game:

How To Complete The Walking On Broken Glass Quest In Palia?

After scavenging a Rummage Pile, players find an odd-looking chest with runic symbols on it and a broken lightbulb placed inside the chest. On the World Map, Elouisa is marked as a person of interest, and they’ll need to speak with her regarding the discovery.

Following some chatter, she reveals that the buried chest and items found belonged to Florentine, the previous owner of their Housing plot and that the lightbulb was designed to “see ghosts.” Similarly, she added that they may have unleashed a little curse upon Kilima Village as they’ll need to speak with Caleri for a specific book that may lift the curse.

Head to the village library and, after speaking with Caleri, obtain the book before returning to Elouisa, for which she revealed that the entire story was a hoax, the curse part. Either way, she adds that she has yet to return a book to the library; however, she lost it in a lake and hasn’t been able to use the library services since.

Nevertheless, she has the book in her possession, and what she’ll use it for remains unclear, which completes the Walking On Broken Glass quest. Players will receive five Renown, a Paper Lantern Bug, and three Glass Bulbs as quest rewards for their efforts.

Palia is currently available via the Epic Games Store and in Open Beta for PC, as players can install the game launcher detailed in this guide. The game is now available to download for Nintendo Switch as of 14th December 2023.
