Another year brings more innovation as NHL 24 World of Chel is refreshed with new features including a major crossplay expansion. The EASHL also returns in World of Chel as players look to squad up and hit the ice.
Whether you're looking for a refresher or are completely new to the WOC grind, our NHL 24 World of Chel beginner's guide will get you started off right. That includes choosing your WOC builds, fine tuning loadouts, and even unlocking new WOC classes.
NHL 24 World of Chel Beginner's Guide
While some games unify a sort of online career mode experience like NBA 2K24 MyCAREER, things are more clearly separated in NHL 24. For players who prefer an entirely offline single player career mode, you can dive into Be A Pro and chart your journey towards becoming a hockey hall of famer.
If you'd like something different, with a much more online flavor, World of Chel lets players take their custom skater into a whole other challenge. You'll outfit your WOC build with multiple loadouts to fit various positions and playstyles, as you always want to be able to adapt.
While some parts of World of Chel are offline, the majority of the mode is focused on playing online with EASHL clubs. Whether you're looking to squad up with some regular friends or just want to dive in with anyone online, you need to start by choosing your builds.
Tips to Choose Your WOC Build, Unlock New Classes & Builds
While there are just six NHL 24 Archetypes in Be A Pro, you'll have more than a dozen different classes available in World of Chel. In addition to the 12 that are available at launch, additional classes are unlockable via the new Battle Pass, in the Store, and could be tied to future events or rewards.
How you setup your loadouts will be majorly impacted by your preferred playstyle, but it's good to keep some versatility on deck just in case. If you're playing online, you may drop in to a game in need of a different positional focus and want to have a good loadout ready for anything.
Details like height and weight will also impact your overall attributes, so tweak things as you identify weaknesses in your existing builds. As players spend more time in NHL 24 to see how different things feel compared to last year, the best builds are sure to emerge.
Battle Pass & How to Redeem Rewards
One big change this year is a premium Battle Pass to unlock rewards in World of Chel. However, one very important detail is that devs stressed any gameplay-specific Battle Pass rewards will be tied to the free tier and not the premium tier.
All NHL 24 players receive free access to the Battle Pass in Season 1, but it'll be a paid feature when this season wraps up. Even in this reward track though, you can see that key unlocks of core classes for your WOC builds are labeled "free" and not linked to the premium rewards.
If you're an EA Play member, also make sure to redeem your rewards each season by looking for the banner at the bottom of the World of Chel menu and heading to the Store. Finally, don't forget to use your BP Multipler Tokens, which layers should have for free in Season 1.
Start With Pro-Am
Ultimately, your World of Chel journey will be about finding (or creating) an EASHL club and playing online in groups. However, the main offline aspect of World of Chel happens to be the perfect place for new players to begin.
You'll jump into various challenges, and the real benefit here (aside from rewards) is getting to feel out your loadouts in a World of Chel format. There are key differences in the overall feel and flow of smaller squad games compared to a full 6v6 NHL matchup.
Before you dive into a club or get overwhelmed by tough challengers online, push your skills and feel your loadouts in Pro-Am. You'll have the benefit of earning XP for additional classes, but the biggest benefit is just adjusting to the format.
Find or Create Your EASHL Club
The last aspect you will eventually have to focus on in World of Chel comes down to your EASHL club selection. If you just want your own vibe to invite people into or for a private club, the customization options got revamped and upgraded this year.
Head into the Customize section of World of Chel at any time to alter all the various details of your gear and your EASHL club. For players who don't currently have a friend to join their club, you'll have the option of either leaving yours public for future members to join or going to search and finding an existing club.
In all cases, it's about finding the right fit. You might find a high level club, but they've already got players who excel at all your best areas. If that's the case, continuing to search for a club where your srengths fill a void may be the better option.
Fortunately, the drop in feature and expanded crossplay for both teammates and opponents are a big help this year. Together, they should speed up your matchmaking times and keep things going even if you don't have a full squad online in NHL 24 World of Chel.
