New World: How to get fish guts

Fishing is one of the most popular activities in Amazon's New World MMO. While playing the game, you will find a profusion of players gathering at different fishing hotspots to catch fish. The fishing activity itself takes a lot of time and effort. But the rewards that it gives is worth your time. 

Players can use fish to make exotic food items, salvage them to get fish oil, firm fish fillet, fish guts and other things. 

Fish guts, in particular, is an item of great importance. Players can use them to add attribute bonuses while crafting pieces of equipment. Whether you are someone who makes his equipment or not, it doesn't matter. Because even if you are not into crafting, you can sell fish guts to get gold coins.

With that said, here is a handy guide that talks about fish guts and how to get them.  

What does fish guts do? 

Players can use fish guts while crafting equipment to get an extra dexterity/intelligence bonus. If you are aiming for a musket, bow, rapier, or ice gauntlet build, then fish gut is an item that you must have.  

The above-listed weapons scale with dexterity and intelligence. Implying, the higher both attributes, the more damage players can deal. That aside, so far, the rapier and bow builds can act as a glass cannon build. Perfect for players who want to deal big damage in less time. 

How to get fish guts 

There are two ways to get fish guts in New World. The first option is to salvage rare fish. And, the second option is to visit a trading post and buy fish guts using gold coins. 

If you are a new player, you might not know how to salvage an item. Follow the below step-by-step guide to salvage a fish in New World. 

Press the "Tab" key on your keyboard to open your inventory. Once that is done, scroll down till you reach the fishing section.

Hover over a fish, and then press the left mouse button to open the action menu. There you will find the "Salvage" option. Click on it to salvage the fish. If you have multiple fish of the same type — you will get a slider to adjust how many fishes you want to salvage. Also, keep in mind, you can get fish guts from rare fish. 

Players can find the obtained fish guts under the "Crafting Mods" section of player inventory.
