NBA 2K24 has announced the official update patch notes for the next major release to the game.
As with the last update, v1.3 is set to release first on next-gen consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series X|S) before presumably coming to current-gen consoles (PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC) at a later today.
For now the v1.3 update is not available at the time of this post, but the NBA 2K24 discord channel has released the patch notes, so we know what changes it will make ahead of time.
The big news for any players who chose Rise affiliation over Elite is that the RISE-specific Heat Check Booster has been adjusted so now you only need to activate after 3 made shots in a row rather than 5.
Elsewhere there's a variety of fixes and improvements with everything from overall game stability while in the City as well as an issue preventing rewards from being received upon the completion of some quests, including Rebirth and certain Badge Perks.
In truth though, this latest update is pretty small, and seemingly for good reason. The developers announced they are continuing to work towards resolving "the most user-impacting issues being reported" by players in the community.
Apparently, the team is currently working on an "all-encompassing patch" releasing at some stage in early-mid October. That patch will contain "fixes and improvements spanning the entire game, including a number of community-reported items", with the 2K devs explaining that they needed a longer internal testing runway before they could be released.
Presumably, this next patch will be released shortly before the launch of Season 2, which is set to release on October 20, 2023 at 8am PT.
That's all for now, but stay tuned as we could see a few follow-up comments from Mike Wang, the 2K24 Game Director who is usually pretty vocal on X (formally Twitter) with additional commentary about updates and patch notes.
