Marvel Rivals is gearing up for the launch of Season 1: Eternal Night Falls, delivering a wave of vampiric-themed content and the highly anticipated debut of the Fantastic Four. The developers have been steadily unveiling members of this iconic superhuman team, and next up is Susan Storm - aka the Invisible Woman. While her abilities look incredibly fun to play, they also seem downright terrifying. Let’s dive into the details!
Marvel Rivals Unveils Susan Storm as the Invisible Woman - And We're Equal Parts Excited and Terrified
As revealed on the official Marvel Rivals social media channels, Susan Storm - better known as Invisible Woman - has been announced as the next Strategist to join the lineup. Her abilities closely resemble those seen in the comics, enabling her to generate force fields, and energy shields, and turn invisible, all while healing teammates from a distance.
Cosmic rays altered Susan Storm on a cellular level, granting her the ability to generate impenetrable force fields and to make herself fade from sight in an instant. Her primary fire appears to function as her healing tool, firing projectiles that can either heal allies or damage enemies, similar to characters like Cloak and Dagger or Luna Snow. However, it’s her additional abilities that make her stand out, starting with a passive skill that seems to grant invisibility.
This mechanic resembles Sombra’s stealth ability from Overwatch 2 or Luna Snow’s Gliding, where staying still or walking for a certain duration turns her invisible. She only becomes visible again when attacking or taking damage. Next is her area-of-effect (AoE) blast, which behaves similarly to Scarlet Witch’s AoE but instead of staggering enemies, it pulls them toward the center while dealing damage.
She also has a unique “boop” ability that creates a tunnel of energy, capable of either pushing enemies away or pulling them closer. Additionally, she seems to have a secondary shield deployable when teamed up with another member of the Fantastic Four, though this feature hasn’t been fully confirmed yet as it might be a normal ability she can use at any time.
Her ultimate ability is particularly noteworthy, generating a massive shield column that not only deflects incoming damage but also renders all allies within its radius completely invisible. With this toolkit, it’s easy to see how Invisible Woman could become a dominant force - especially in organized team play.

Invisible Woman is versatile, capable of holding the front line with her AoE attacks and force-field abilities while maintaining a strong presence in the backline with invisibility and shields if situations get dicey. And yes, she even has a double jump for added mobility, making her even more dangerous.
What’s most concerning, though, is how she might synergize with other heroes, leading some players to speculate that she could usher in the return of the “Pirate Ship” meta. For Overwatch veterans, this strategy involved placing Bastion on a payload and using shields to protect him as he tore through enemies. Now, imagine replacing Bastion with Punisher, backed by shields from Invisible Woman and Doctor Strange - that could be a nightmare for opponents.
Of course, we’ll need to see how she plays and how her numbers stack up (since cooldowns and durations will be critical factors in determining her overall strength). For now, though, Invisible Woman is a character to watch as Marvel Rivals Season 1 approaches.
