Hades 2's The Warsong Update Welcomes The God Of War Ares To Mount Olympus

Supergiant Games has released the second major update, The Warsong, for their action roguelike RPG Hades 2, which is still available on PC via Steam Early Access. This update welcomes new gameplay additions and adjustments as detailed in the update's patch notes, which are available via its Steam listing, alongside new bug fixes and miscellaneous changes.

This update also welcomes the infamous God of War, Ares, whose arrival brings along his "varied and vicious Boons," which can be used to "satisfy his thirst for blood." And for those who may need assistance to keep them on the "straight and narrow," a new Animal Familiar is available for players to establish a bond with and who will keep them "out of harm's way!"

The Warsong update also expands the game's current narrative in preparation for Hades 2's v1.0 launch, which the developer noted they'd be "planning ahead" for its story by "building on various character relationships and subplots." Other gameplay content outlined in the official announcement and patch notes that players can look forward to includes The Final Confrontation, in which Supergiant Games states that there is something to discover once they've summit Mount Olympus.

To further expand the game's story, over 2,000 extra voice lines were added for players to discover alongside new game events, which finds them spending more time with the cast of characters. Outside of the game's story, the developer has also brought a bevy of new updates to Crossroads with new Points of Interest (POIs), which should make traveling to the Taverna much easier and more accessible.

Additionally, new interactions and details like various wildlife appear throughout the main grounds, new decor items, and improvements, which the moon will display in its multiple phases at "the Training Grounds vista scene." The Altar of Ashes has also received an update in which, after meditating, players can find multiple new and reworked Arcana effects and unique illustrations for all cards for players to discover.

Players easily access the free update by locating the game within their Steam Library and begin installing it which the developer has noted that players may have to restart the Steam Client if they experience any technical difficulties. The complete patch notes are available from the game's Steam listing, which Supergiant Games confirmed they have begun working on plans for the third major update for Hades 2; however, no release date for Hades 2 was mentioned.
