EXODUS, an upcoming sci-fi RPG from Archetype Entertainment, has received a new cinematic trailer. This time, fans are introduced to one of the game's monsterous Celestials, the Mara-Yama.
Guiding us through this reveal is Matthew McConnaughey (Interstellar, True Detective) as C.C. Orlev, a mysterious observer who appears to know plenty about survival out in space. In the trailer, he describes how the Mara-Yama are one of the deadliest entities that can be encountered in the Centauri Cluster. As horrifying predators, they feed on the creulty and fear that they inflict on their prey, though they enjoy the torment just as much as the kill.
It seems the Mara-Yama hunt down the memories and minds of their prey in the darkest corners of the Centauri Cluster. They supposedly have no territory or homeland, and instead occupy giant space citadels in the empty regions of space.
EXODUS focuses on a humanity that has fled Earth, owing to it becoming uninhabitable. But the new home they've chosen to make exists in a dangerous galaxy, one full of new and necessary technology that humans must locate in order to repair — the Archimedes Engine. But, when hunting for this technology, players are exposed to Time Dilation. As you head out on expeditions, time passes at an extrodinary rate back home. What seems like a day to The Traveler could be a decade for everyone else.
