As players work through Dragon Age: The Veilguard, the importance of Mythal to the larger story of the gods will become very clear. Mythal can only be met after gathering all the Lighthouse memories about Solas, and a Dragon Age legend will be there to point players in the right direction.
While there's always the brute force option, taking down Mythal in full dragon form is no easy task. For careful players, the right answers can get Mythal to help you without a fight in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
How to Convince Mythal to Help in Dragon Age Veilguard
After retrieving all five wolf statues and learning about Solas's memories in Regrets of the Dread Wolf, Dragon Age: The Veilguard takes a turn by meeting players up with an old series legend. Morrigan, seen previously in Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age: Inquisition, has offered to give Rook and the others a little assistance against Elgar'nan and Ghilan'nain.
While she won't fight by your side, Morrigan will send players to seek the help of Mythal. Finding her isn't too difficult as you just need to follow the quest marker, but actually convincing Mythal to help will require a very specific set of answers. If you choose the wrong one, Mythal will be upset and push right into a battle. Her dragon form is formidable, and lower level players may not be able to defeat Mythal in combat.
Mythal Answers for Dragon Age: The Veilguard
When players first approach Mythal, choosing "Die, false god" or "You're not going to help us" will forego any opportunity to convince Mythal and instead jump straight into battle. If this happens or you slip up along the way, reload a save prior to that conversation with Mythal to try again.
The first answer she needs to hear is "I want your help", but that's just the beginning. You'll then be provided with five different answers which provide their own way of trying to convince Mythal to help Rook and their companions. Choosing "Forget it. I'll fight you." will once again put you right into combat, so avoid that option.
Here are the four answers you can choose when you start convincing Mythal, and you'll also find the correct secondary answer for each path which is needed to let the conversation continue. All four paths have to be answered correctly before Mythal will actually agree to help.
Solas is helping me.
- I'm sorry that happened.
- Forgotten him.
- Respected him. (Correct Answer)
We must stop the blight.
- The blight is your fault.
- You stood against it. (Correct Answer)
- People will die.
We must stop the gods.
- Put the blight aside?
- We need no gods.
- They wronged you. (Correct Answer)
We are worthy.
- Building a safe place. (Correct Answer)
- Killing monsters.
- I'm trying to be like you.
Once you've correctly convinced Mythal of all four possible reasons, she will find you worthy and agree to help your party in the fight against Elgar'nan and Ghilan'nain. While some players may worry about missing out on combat XP, completing the quest still gives plenty and will give players a late game advantage in Dragon Age: the Veilguard.
