Why Wesker and Nemesis May Not Ever Join Dead by Daylight's 2v8

Dead by Daylight's 2v8 mode may not include Resident Evil killers or skins, potentially due to a licensing agreement.

Dead by Daylight's newest iteration of 2v8 introduces several new Killers to the mode's roster, including The Deathslinger, Spirit, and Blight. A larger selection of Killers means that there are more abilities and cosmetics for players to choose from, but some fans have noticed that not all outfits are available in the current 2v8.

Notably, War Hammer Titan for The Spirit and William Birkin for The Blight are not available - suggesting that the Attack on Titan and Resident Evil license holders may not be open to their characters being used in the 2v8 mode. This could be for a variety of reasons, such as not wanting their licensed characters interacting with licensed characters from other media.

Unfortunately, though, this could mean that killers such as Albert Wesker or The Nemesis may never make their way to 2v8.

If it's true that the Attack on Titan and Resident Evil license holders haven't agreed to those licenses being in 2v8, that could also extend to the next iteration of the mode. With The Oni and The Legion both slated to join the mode's roster, players likely won't be able to access the Armored Titan cosmetic for The Oni or the HUNK cosmetic for The Legion.

But those who are hoping to dive into 2v8 as Wesker, Nemesis, or a Resident Evil legendary skin shouldn't lose hope. Behaviour hasn't officially stated that these characters won't be permitted to play in a future iteration of 2v8, meaning that any licensing issues could potentially be worked out. For now, though, it's not looking like they'll be added to the 2v8 roster any time soon.
