Dead by Daylight's November 8.4.0 developer update buffs the game's newest killer, The Houndmaster, but also significantly nerfs one of new Survivor Taurie Cain's perks. The Houndmaster's Search Command cooldown is significantly lower, allowing her to use her dog Snug much more often. Her Chase Command will also be more effective, with faster acceleration.

"We’ve made some significant changes to the movement speed and the Houndsense Radius around Snug," the dev update reads. "With the reduction in the cooldown time, we’re confident that this will allow the duo to move quickly to a location, find Survivors, and start threatening them with the Chase Command immediately."

While The Houndmaster mostly gets buffs in this update, Survivor Taurie Cain's Shoulder the Burden perk is also seeing a pretty big nerf, with the time Survivors are Exposed being doubled from 30 seconds to 60 seconds. Shoulder the Burden effectively allows players to trade hook states with a fellow Survivor.

"We felt the Exposed time on the perk was too short for how strong the perk can be for trading hook states with another player," the devs explain. "We wanted to ensure that the risk / reward factor was more balanced."

The content changes in Dead by Daylight's November developer update are based on player feedback from the PTB, and are subject to further change in the future.
