Dead by Daylight has now enabled cross-progression, a highly-anticipated and highly-requested feature that allows players to access their purchased and earned content on all platforms. While it’s available across PC and consoles, many players on Switch are wondering if they’re able to use cross-progression, too. Here's the scoop on whether it's possible, and how to enable it.

Is Dead by Daylight Cross-Progression on Switch?

Fortunately, yes, you can use cross-progression with Dead by Daylight on Switch - but it’s not quite that simple. Using cross-progression on Switch comes with caveats that aren’t issues on other platforms, and your options are quite limited compared to usual console/PC crossplay.

If you're playing on Switch, you can transfer over your shared paid currency and shared DLC from other platforms - but you won't be able to move it over from Switch to other platforms. In other words, you can move content to Switch, but not from it.

Thankfully, your inventory and progression are exceptions - they're shared across all platforms no matter what. You can't share DLC or paid currencies from Switch to other platforms, but you'll be able to share your characters' levels - including prestige levels - and inventories.

It’s unfortunate that cross-progression on Steam with Dead by Daylight is pretty limited, especially since many players have been waiting a long time for this exciting feature. Thankfully, though, it does work - albeit with lots of limitations. Essentially, while content that’s earned can be shared, items and currencies that you bought with real-world currency won’t be able to transfer.

If you plan on using cross-progression on Switch or any other platform, you’ll need to link your Behaviour account with all of the platforms you intend to play on - including Nintendo (since that’s the account that’ll be linked to your Switch). You can then add on Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, or Epic Games, and use the cross-progression features that are available for Switch.
