Dead by Daylight's Freddy Krueger, also known as The Nightmare, is getting a major rework starting with today's PTB. The update adds both Dream Snares and Dream Pallets to the killer's base kit, giving players much more flexibility regarding how to use his power. The Nightmare can also now teleport to all generators - including completed, non-completed, and endgame gens - allowing him more mobility around the map.

Another buff to Freddy Krueger's power will allow him to easily teleport to healing survivors. Survivors performing a healing action on a Sleeping Survivor or while being Asleep are revealed with Killer Instinct, and The Nightmare will be able to teleport to them at will while in the Dream World.

To coincide with the changes to Freddy's ability, his add-ons and perks have also both seen some updates. Fire Up has higher values, and players can earn more tokens with Fire Up. These changes patch up some of the issues with Freddy Krueger that many fans have long taken issue with.

The update includes a variety of changes to Freddy Krueger, both switching up his ability and add-ons. The changes have been generally well-received by the Dead by Daylight community, with many believing that they've been needed for a long time - though some have said that he may be OP going forward, requiring further changes. These changes are currently only available in the game's PTB, and The Nightmare's kit may see some further changes before the rework is added to the main game.
