There's one feature that Dead by Daylight fans have been asking for just about as long as the game has been out: cross-progression. The community rejoiced when the team unveiled during last month's 8th Anniversary livestream that cross-progression would be coming "this summer," but fans haven't heard anything since - until today.
Some strings in the game's code for the most recent Lara Croft PTB revealed lots of interesting information about the coveted feature, not only suggesting that cross-progression is coming soon, but also noting that players who have duplicate content will be compensated.
The strings found in the files, published by Dead by Daylight leaker dvveet, are just below:
It's unknown whether the duplicate content compensation will apply to just DLCs, characters, or cosmetics. It's also unknown for now whether the compensation could come in the form of Bloodpoints, Auric Cells, or Iridescent Cells - or how much of those currencies that players could receive.
While there's not a lot of details on cross-progression quite yet, it's great news to hear that players who have purchased content more than once will possibly get some compensation in return for their duplicate characters or cosmetics. For now, Dead by Daylight hasn't officially announced these details about the cross-progression update - but it's possible we'll hear more soon.
