Dead by Daylight's Chains of Hate chapter features the Deathslinger, who can hit survivors and reel them in with his spear from a distance, and Zarina Kassir, a survivor who wandered her way into the Fog alongside him. Caleb Quinn is a cowboy with a knack for inventions, making his home on the Grave of Glenvale map.

The Deathslinger can shoot survivors from afar with his spear, reeling them in to earn a hit if he manages to avoid obstacles or other survivors blocking his spear. This means that aim is important, so those who have come to Dead by Daylight from shooter titles might think this ability will come naturally.

Unfortunately, though, that isn't quite the case; Deathslinger's gunshot attack has undergone a ton of changes over the years, most of them eventually weakening it. His aim feels quite clunky, and shots aren't fast enough for great shots to even really feel rewarding.

While Caleb Quinn (The Deathslinger) doesn't necessarily shine as a killer, Zarina Kassir definitely stands out in the survivor roster. The Deathslinger's ability may have been nerfed over time, but Zarina's perks have been buffed recently, making Off the Record one of the most powerful perks in the game. It'll allow you to take an extra hit when it's most important, allowing you to waste the killer's time or protect a teammate.

Dead by Daylight Chains of Hate - The Verdict:
Dead by Daylight's Chains of Hate chapter isn't one of the game's best original chapters by a long shot (pun intended), though it has potential. The Deathslinger is an interesting character with a unique design, but his ability just isn't powerful or refined enough for him to be an enjoyable killer to play. While Zarina Kassir does have some of the best perks in the game, this chapter isn't worth purchasing for most. However, if you're particularly interested in playing the Deathslinger or just don't want to wait for Zarina's Off the Record to show up in the Shrine of Secrets, Chains of Hate might be worth a buy.
