Dead by Daylight's new Castlevania killer, The Dracula AKA the Dark Lord, is now here, alongside survivor Trevor Belmont. Here are the best builds to help you take a bite out of the competition as Castlevania's Dracula.
Dracula Perks
Like all killers in Dead by Daylight, Dracula has a set of three unique perks. Here are those perks and what they do:
- Hex: Wretched Fate: After 1 generator has been repaired, a Hex Totem curses the Obsession, slowing down their repair speed. They’ll be able to see this Hex Totem when nearby.
- Human Greed: See the Auras of Unopened Chests and any Survivor who enters your vicinity. You’ll also be able to close any open Chests.
- Dominance: When a Survivor interacts with a Chest or Totem for the first time, it will be briefly blocked by The Entity.
Dracula Killer Power
Picking out the best build for the Dark Lord requires understanding his power, including his various forms, and how they work. Here's exactly how Dracula's killer power works, according to the in-game description:
Dracula can shift between 3 distinct forms: Vampire Form (default), Wolf Form, and Bat Form. Each form specializes in a different aspect of the hunt.
- Vampire Form: In Dracula’s base form, you can fire a Flaming Pillar, which fires a row of flames in a forward trajectory. This attack can traverse through obstacles, including Pallets and Windows.
- Wolf Form: Played from a third-person perspective, Wolf Form specializes in tracking Survivors. You’ll have a better view of Scratch Marks and Blood Pools, and any running Survivors will generate visible Scent Orbs. When you do find a Survivor, you can strike with a lunging Pounce Attack.
- Bat Form: Also featuring a faster base movement speed and a third person perspective, Bat Form is a valuable mobility tool. With no Terror Radius and the ability to Teleport to a nearby Vault location, Bat Form grants Dracula the stealth of night itself.
Beginner Dracula Build
As a Dead by Daylight beginner, you likely won't have access to all of the game's perks, even though using them can be really helpful in creating strong builds. Thankfully, this beginner Dracula build is designed to work with the perks you have when starting out, including general perks and those belonging to the Dark Lord himself.
- Spies from the Shadows
- Whispers
- Sloppy Butcher
- Hex: Wretched Fate (The Dark Lord)
Spies from the Shadows and Whispers help you easily locate survivors, while Sloppy Butcher and Wretched Fate make your approaches - and your attacks - more effective.
Diverse Dracula Build
Dracula has several different forms that he can access, giving him different abilities at different times. This diverse Dracula build helps him make the most of all of those powers, encouraging him to switch freely between Vampire, Bat, and Wolf form throughout the match.
- Hex: No One Escapes Death
- Discordance (The Legion)
- Tinkerer (The Hillbilly)
- No Way Out (The Trickster)
Discordance lets The Dark Lord know where to go and use offensive attacks in his Vampire Form, while Tinkerer enhances his Bat Form and gives him even more of a sneak factor as he approaches survivors. With No One Escapes Death and No Way Out, he can pull everything together towards the end of the match.
Hoarder Dracula Build
This Hoarder Dracula build focuses on forcing survivors to drop their items, and allowing you to see their locations when they attempt to pick up those items or retrieve new ones from chests. While this isn't the most well-rounded build and does depend on survivors' determination to keep their items, when it does work, it works extremely well and gives you lots of intel on survivors' locations.
- Human Greed (Dark Lord)
- Hoarder (Twins)
- Weave Attunement (Lich)
- Franklin's Demise (Leatherface)
