The first iteration of Dead by Daylight's 2v8 mode may be coming to a close today, but new killers could likely be coming to the game mode in the future.
DBDLeaks posted a list of killers in their Discord server that “have AI code written for them,” suggesting that they could be planned to be added in 2v8. All killers added to 2v8 must have this AI code, permitting a bot to replace one killer if a player chooses to disconnect.
The list of killers including DBD originals like the Clown, Doctor, Legion, and Plague - but also licensed names like Leatherface, Pyramid Head, Freddy, and Michael Myers.
It seems pretty likely that Dead by Daylight could be working on adding these characters to the 2v8 mode in the future. Recently, DBD has hinted that 2v8 will likely come back again, calling the event that just ended the "first iteration" of the mode. Adding more killers could also cut down on queue times in the future, since players cannot match with another killer who is playing the same character. Queue times were an ongoing problem with this iteration of 2v8, with many killers waiting as long as 30 minutes for a match.
While adding more killers would likely improve the mode, DBDLeaks did note that the AI code for the listed killers "still being worked on" and "haven't been tested for 2v8 yet," so it could be a while before they're added in.
While Dead by Daylight does use AI in their 2v8 mode killer bots, there's another place where players can interact with those bots: custom matches. It's possible that the related AI code for these killers could be used for custom matches rather than 2v8, and that these killers aren't on their way to the game mode - but given its popularity, it seems more likely that Behaviour would want to add these characters to 2v8. For now, nothing is confirmed, so be sure to keep an eye out for more updates surrounding DBD's 2v8 mode and what killers could be added when it returns.
