As you dive into Disney Dreamlight Valley, whether you're in the base game or already going into Eternity Isle with the first DLC, there's a seemingly endless supply of places to put your focus. For new players, knowing where to start first can be critical and will help you make later parts of the game much easier.
For those who have already been enjoying Disney Dreamlight Valley, there's always a chance something slipped by you in the early game. You might have something valuable just waiting behind the right Realm Door.
Scrooge McDuck
Fortunately, this is going to be one of your earliest quests anyways. Befriending Scrooge McDuck is crucial in the early game for Disney Dreamlight Valley and required for much of what you'll do later. Several quests with other characters will rely on Scrooge McDuck's store, so this should be your very first focal point as things get started.
Any Goofy's Stall Location
Another early task will be unlocking the first of Goofy's Stall locations, but you don't want to stop there. Every single new biome you enter will have a new Goofy's Stall to unlock, even when you get to Eternity Isle. Push to rack up the coins to unlock and upgrade these, and soon you'll have access to some of the best seeds and recipes in the game.
Mining & Gardening Companions
Becoming friends with various villagers will allow you to choose a companion role once their Friendship Level is upgraded. All of your options have value, but the most important early ones to improve are Mining and Gardening. The former will help you gather valuable gems more quickly, and the latter will progressively amplify the amount of bonus crops you get while harvesting.
Inventory Storage Upgrades
Storage is a constant struggle in Disney Dreamlight Valley, and upgrading your inventory space is worth every coin. While upgrading your house can also provide room for extra chests and mildly improves storage on one single chest, upgrading your inventory will have a more significant impact on your ability to gather resources without having to regroup and clear space.
Royal Tool Upgrades
Every single one of your trust Royal Tools is useful, but upgrading them will step things up another level. Crucial quests to break bones or break big blue beach rocks will pop up as you continue to explore. If you've got A Rift in Time, you also want to use the Timebending Table to upgrade your Hourglass and other tools even further.
Kristoff's Stall
Tied to several quests including your arrival in the Forest of Valor and exploration of the Frozen Realm, Kristoff's Stall may be even more important than Goofy's. There are several different items that can appear for sale, but the one you'll need is coal. This is by far the quickest and most reliable way to gather coal you'll need for both cooking and crafting.
Moana's Fishing Boat
Lastly, this is one you might overlook if you don't gain access to the Moana Realm early on. You can unlock Moana's Fishing Boat in your early quests with Moana and Maui, and this will give you a new outlet for free fish. Upgrading the boat will speed up how much can be gathered at a time, and you'll occasionally be able to collect fish from biomes you haven't even unlocked.
