Dark and Darker Patch 2 went live recently and the jolly merchant Nicholas has returned to the game. The Christmas-themed merchant also went live with a brand new item which is dropping in-game: Gingerbread Cookies.
However, not everyone knows what they should be doing with this unique rarity item, as at first glance, it seems pretty pointless.
But it all makes sense when you take into consideration the new quest system that just went live. Unlike before, Merchants now give out quests that can be completed to earn extra rewards and unlock access to better items, crafts, and deals.
This also includes Special Event Travelers and Merchants like Nicholas, who has his own set of quests to complete. This is where you use the Gingerbread Cookie.
Nicholas' third quest, titled 'Gingerbread Stocking' tasks level 20 players with collecting 100 Gingerbread Cookies. Those who hand in all 100 will be rewarded with the following:
- 25 Candycanes
- a yellow fox pendant
- a yellow ring of courage
- 250 xp
- 50 affinity
Aside from the quest, the Gingerbread Cookie has no other purpose in Dark and Darker. So stock up, and deliver them to Saint Nic before he departs.
