Europe is considered by far the strongest Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports region, featuring the best teams in the world. That's why there are two European Regional Major Rankings (RMR) events. This guide focuses on the Shanghai Major European A RMR event details so you don't miss any of the action.

Over three days of competition, some of the best teams in the world will compete for spots in the main event of the Perfect World Shanghai Major. The second-ever CS2 Major championship runs from 30 November to 15 December, in case you didn't know.

Shanghai Major EU A RMR Dates & Format

This event is an offline LAN affair in China, which runs from Sunday, 17 November until Wednesday, 20 November 2024. The format is a 16-team Swiss System, where elimination and advancement matches are best-of-three (BO3), and all other matches are best-of-one (BO1).

The tournament organizers use the Buchholz system for matchups from Round 3 to Round 5. The top seven teams make it to the Perfect World Shanghai Major, and the bottom nine teams are eliminated.
