COD Mobile SMG tier list - Every submachine gun ranked from worst to best for Season 9

Call of Duty: Mobile Season 9, entitled: "Nightmare," rolls out at 1 am BST on 21st October and features a slew of new spooky content and gameplay feature adjustments, including the return of the "Standoff" multiplayer map, a new "Sawmill" map, a new "Dropzone" multiplayer mode, new Perks and Scorestreaks.

There is, of course, also a shiny new battle pass, in addition to a menu of weapon balance changes and a new "Flash Drone" tactical unit. Activision has also introduced two new weapons to COD Mobile: the Swordfish assault rifle (AR) and Thumper tactical rifle. 

Activision did not change many weapons in the submachine (SMG) class. Activision only nerfed the MX9 in the COD Mobile battle royale mode this season, in addition to the CR-56 AMAX, M13 and KN-44 assault rifles and the UL736 and S36 light machine guns in survival and multiplayer modes.

Given these changes, you're probably wondering which weapons are the strongest and most broken weapons to use in COD Mobile Season 9. Well, we have the answer -- Let's have a look.

COD Mobile Season 9 SMG tier list

In case you didn't know, SMGs are lightweight automatic weapons with relatively low-energy pistol cartridges. They are typically used at short to medium ranges and have a high rate of fire.

Note: Our tier lists are not an exact science; however, we do strive to make our SMG list as accurate as humanly possible.

Description of the tiers

• S-Tier: Weapons in this tier are the absolute best SMGs in COD Mobile, which can quickly melt the faces off opponents.
• A-Tier: With a great loadout, these Submachine Guns could go toe-to-toe against the S-Tier.
• B-Tier: These SMGs are very capable with a perfect loadout that fits your playstyle.
• C-Tier: This SMG tier requires you to use a perfect loadout. While these SMGs have some downsides, they can still work well.
• D-Tier: The trash tier. You would be much better off using one of the other SMGs in this list.

SMG tier list

There is a total of 15 SMGs in COD Mobile Season 9. The latest update only affected the MX9 in the battle royale mode, so we have omitted changes from the patch in this tier list and otherwise kept our tier list the same.

S-tier SMGs:

• MX9
• QQ9
• MSMC

Activision introduced the MX9 a few seasons ago, and the gun continues to impress with its impressive stats and damage. The MX9 evaded balance changes in previous seasons but has been hit with several nerfs in battle royale mode, including reduced base gun damage, increased vertical recoil of the first shot by 50%, and increased bullet firing spread.

We've decided to keep the MX9 in the S-tier list of guns because these nerfs do not extend to the multiplayer or survival mode in COD Mobile Season 9.

A-tier SMGs:

• PP19 Bizon
• Cordite
• RUS-79U

The PP19 Bizon, Cordite and RUS-79U are still powerful guns to use in COD Mobile Season 9. For example, the PP19 Bizon boasts serious damage and fire rate, decent accuracy, and low firing recoil. The Cordite mirrors this and is a versatile gun with solid precision, while the RUS-79U shines as a well-rounded and balanced A-tier submachine gun.

B-tier SMGs:

• Fennec
• Razorback
• QXR

The Fennec used to be a powerhouse weapon in COD Mobile but was subjected to a string of nerfs in previous seasons, making it a B-tier gun in Season 9. However, despite its nerf, the Fennec can still be useful when paired with the right loadout.

C-tier SMGs:

• AGR 556
• GKS

D-tier SMG:

• Chicom
• PDW-57
• HG40
• Pharo

We advise that you avoid the weapons above as you will be better off with literally any other gun in this weapon tier guide.
