It's full steam ahead for Activision, as news and announcements ramp up for the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Launching in November, Modern Warfare 3 will continue on from Modern Warfare 2 (2022) giving players a whole new host of dangerous missions to carry out.
While the campaign is big draw for a lot of Call of Duty players, there are plenty of other modes that fans are hoping to get their hands on. We know for a fact that Multiplayer will be a huge feature, particularly with items and cosmetics carrying over from both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone. But there's one mode that a certain subsection of fans will be eagerly anticipating — Zombies.
Update 20 September: This article has been updated with the latest information regarding Zombies in MW3.
Does Modern Warfare 3 Have Zombies?
Yes, Modern Warfare 3 will have Zombies. A new 4-minute cinematic trailer was released on September 19, 2023 which gave fans their first look at just some of the story elements tied to MW3's Zombies. It seems the mode will have some ties to the campaign, with the Zombies themselves showing resemblance to those of Black Ops Cold War.
Previously, a special marketing phone number for Modern Warfare 3 seemingly confirmed the return of Zombies Mode.
As posted by CharlieIntel, should players message the dedicated marketing number for the game, simply stating "Zombies," what gets sent back is a very brief audio clip. It sounds an awful lot like zombies, at least.
The marketing line has already confirmed a number of returning features, including the classic mini-map, and the full list of 16 MW2 2009 maps being revisited in MW3. These include maps such as Scrapyard, Terminal, Invasion, and Skidrow. To test it for yourself, U.S. Residents can text READY to +1 202-918-3022. Inputting any of the 16 MW2 maps will send back a confirmation.
Fans have already expressed their desire for the upcoming Zombies mode to be more akin to Black Ops Cold War, rather than Vanguard. As we move closer toward the November 10 release date, more information will surely arise, around modes, gameplay and more.
