Aloft: Where To Find & Use Tomatoes

Aloft features a bevy of gameplay features, like Building, Crafting, and Farming, that can aid players in progressing with the game but also allow them to build and expand their homes within the clouds. In addition to these amazing systems, it also has a Cooking system that sees players preparing plenty of delicious meals using the ingredients they find on the islands or growing them in their little gardens to have an endless supply of fresh produce.

One of the first ingredients that can be discovered early in-game is the Tomato Plant, which is applicable for cooking, but they may also get its seeds if they're lucky. How To Find And Use Tomatoes In Aloft?

Tomatoes are one of the many ingredients players can harvest in the wild and grow in Farming Plots on their home islands. These plants are one of the first they'll encounter when starting Aloft, specifically when exploring the starting island, as noted by the bright red fruit growing on vines.

According to its in-game description, the tomato is "a red and acidic fruit;" however, the game doesn't state how tomatoes can be utilized in-game. As for where players can find tomatoes, we've found these red-hued fruits growing on hills and cliffs on various islands, but we also had luck on some smaller islands, where we found tomato plants.

Harvesting them is straightforward as they must approach the tomato plant and collect the tomatoes by hand by holding down the E key. This will add tomatoes to their Inventory, but there's also a chance they may get Tomato Seeds, which are used for farming purposes.

Speaking of Tomato Seeds, these can be planted within Farming Plots, the blueprints of which can be unlocked by finding one on an island and using the Sketchbook to scan and draw it. The Rustic Farming Plot blueprint can be found in the Building menu under the Farming tab, which requires Wood and Soil to build and they can plant and water the Tomato Seeds and wait for harvest to hand-pick them.

As for the fresh produce, Tomatoes are mainly used in cooking, which requires a Campfire and a Cooking Plate its blueprint is unlocked by finding one in the open world and scanning it using the Sketchbook or a Knowledge Stone. Once they've crafted and placed the Cooking Plate on the Campfire, they can interact with it and add various items to gain a recipe before cooking the dish, which will be added to their Inventory to consume and enjoy the buffs they give.
