During their skybound adventures, players will discover various ruins, caves, murals, and Knowledge Stones, where players can find new knowledge to aid them in their journey. However, some knowledge cannot be obtained in this manner as they can explore the floating islands where various building structures and stations, like the Millstone, can be found.
The Millstone may not be as important as the Workbench and the Glider Stand, but it can help them make a valuable item that helps clean corruption from islands. This guide explains how players can acquire the Millstone Station and what it can be used for in Aloft.
How To Find And Use The Millstone Station In Aloft?
The Millstone is a crafting station that players can obtain and utilize to produce various items essential to their explorations across the sky islands. This station can be crafted once they've acquired the blueprint, along with the required resources and crafting materials to make the Millstone.
Finding the blueprint for the Millstone could be acquired from a Knowledge Stone on a different save file; however, there is one that can be found in the open world. Near the first corrupted island, there's an island with a waterfall where they can find a seating area with a Campfire and a Millstone for them to use once they land.
Before using it, we advise using the Sketchbook to scan the Millstone before sketching the station to unlock the blueprint, which is found within the Building menu when pressing the B key. Locate the Machinery tab where they can find the Millstone, which requires five Stones and two pieces of Wood to craft and place anywhere on their home island.
As for its uses, its in-game description perfectly explains how players can use this machine, for which it states that it's "used to grind resources into a fine powder." Currently, Millstone can grind resources and ingredients like certain seeds, Reishi Mushrooms, Salt Crystals, and Wheat to get various by-products like Grain, Reishi Inoculants, and Salt.
In a previous guide on Reishi Mushrooms, we've explained how players can get Reishi Inoculants, which function as decomposers to help cleanse islands from corruption. Salt Crystals are typically found within Abandoned Chests littered across the floating islands, while Wheat usually grows in the wild, which they can harvest using the Stone Sickle to get Wheat and its seeds to plant in Farming Boxes.
All they must do is approach and interact with the station and choose the resource or ingredient they wish to grind on the Millstone. To grind the resource or ingredient, they must complete a minigame by pressing the F key within the hitbox to grind the resource or ingredient successfully, and they can continue doing this until they have enough products they need for brewing, cooking, or researching.
