NBA 2K20 cover stars revealed

NBA 2K20 cover stars revealed

2K has officially revealed the cover stars for this year's NBA release, NBA 2K20, set to release on September 6, 2019.

Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans (though, soon to be the Los Angeles Lakers) will be the cover athlete for the Standard and Deluxe Editions, whilst Dwyane Wade, who spent the majority of his 16-year career at Miami Heat, is set to grace the cover of the Legend Edition.

Anthony Davis first donned the 2K cover in 2016 when he shared it with Stephen Curry and James Harden, each behemoths in their own right, but this time Davis isn't expected to share the limelight.

Despite that, Davis hasn't been a stranger to the limelight this season; delays in his transfer to LA have been causing issues consistently and in his last game, Anthony Davis strolled in wearing a t-shirt that read “That’s All Folks.”

Speaking with the Daily Star, Davis said: "It feels amazing, a dream come true. I always wanted this moment, always wanted to be on the cover of 2K."

Dwyane Wade is set to be facing his first year of retirement in the 2019/2020 season and, according to the NBA 2k franchise, the three-time NBA Champ is officially a Legend.

It'll be exciting to see how Davis weighs up this season and how the NBA looks without Dwyane Wade, and it also gives the NBA 2K league a new lease of life after spending the last couple of years finding their footing.
