Michael Jordan First 100 OVR Player In NBA 2K

It was a massive day of news for NBA 2K as the game developers have finally begun to unveil content for the next title in the storied franchise, NBA 2K23. In rather unsurprising, but still noteworthy news, the game developers officially revealed Michael Jordan as the cover athlete for NBA 2K23.

With MJ making the jersey number 23 so iconic over the course of his storied career, this seemed like an easy decision, and now 2K Games have confirmed many fans' premonitions. The goat will indeed grace the cover for the fourth time in franchise history, and this isn't the only 2K history being made. The first big announcement in July 2022 from the NBA 2K franchise was the cover athlete reveal for NBA 2K23. To the surprise of very few, Michael Jordan was unveiled by the game devs, as well as an additional Devin Booker alternate cover.

MJ on the cover once again has already begun to fuel the high hopes of many 2K players who are expecting a top-tier title for this year. It's certainly a fair shout, as the past three titles to brandish Jordan on the cover (NBA 2K11, NBA 2K12, NBA 2K16) have certainly not disappointed.

Michael Jordan 100 OVR rating - First time in NBA 2K history

In another bit of ground-breaking news, Michael Jordan made even more NBA 2K history. To commemorate the iconic #23 in the 2023 edition of the title, Michael Jordan is set to become the first-ever player to carry a 100-OVR rating in NBA 2K history.

Seeing that the franchise started all the way back in 1999, it's pretty special that this will be the first player with a triple-digit rating. There was no specification as to whether or not this would be a special edition card of MJ with a 100 OVR rating, or if it will simply be his version on one of the playable classic Bulls rosters.
