Players accessing the Epic Games Store may have noticed something interesting that appeared when navigating the Home page this week. Each week, the digital storefront avails unique games for free to the community, and currently, players can grab Dakar Desert Rally until 22nd February 2024.

Epic Games Store revealed their next lineup of games that will be available to all players who claim it between 22nd and 29th February 2024. Players can claim three Fallout games for free from the digital storefront once they become available on the dates mentioned above.

Fallout: A Post Nuclear Role Playing Game, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel will soon be claimed from the Epic Games Store for free, which were all released for Windows PC at launch. This isn't the first time a Fallout game was made available for free, as the Classic Collection, which featured all three games mentioned, was previously available to claim in December 2022 and Fallout 3 the following year.

Fallout was the game that catapulted the series to commercial success, "revitalized" the CRPG genre and spawned three entries in the mainline franchise, with Fallout 5 being the next game to be released. Interplay Entertainment was responsible for starting the franchise as they developed Fallout for Windows and OS PCs in 1997 before Black Isle Studios took over for Fallout 2.

As the first spin-off Fallout game, Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel deviated from the CRPG genre for the turn-based real-time tactical genre featuring three unique combat modes as it follows the aforementioned Brotherhood faction who become embroiled in a conflict to the backdrop of "the howling, radiated wasteland." The Fallout series also saw multiple spin-off games across console, PC, and mobile devices, including Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel, Fallout 76, and the highly successful Fallout: New Vegas developed by Obsidian Entertainment.

Players have until 29th February 2024 to grab any of these Fallout games for free from the Epic Games Store, but there's time to claim Dakar Desert Rally. The off-road rally racing game is currently available to claim from the Free Games section on the Home page of the digital storefront.
