Mechs are coming to No Man's Sky

Jump into your personal Echo Mech and take a nice walk
Mechs are coming to No Man's Sky

Redemption story of No Man's Sky continues to impress us with every passing month and the amount of content added is absolutely astonishing. And yet, they don't plan to stop.

In February they added living ships, and just recently one small, but cute detail - dashboard bobbleheads for your ships.

Now comes another exciting update, that brings us a new type of vehicles - Echo Mech. Echo Mechs are designed so that you can jump right into them and go for a walk. They are called Minotaur Exocraft and are available starting today with 2.4 update.

"The Minotaur Heavy Exocraft Hybrid is an all-new way to explore planets. This advanced mechanical walker dominates the landscape and offers unique new technologies," says in the official announcement.

This colossal metal bipedal makes you resistant to any kind of harsh environmental effects, like extreme heat, cold or radiation. Complete immunity allows you to go anywhere on the planet, and all resources are collected while you are inside the safety of the Mech. The Minotaur has mining laser, that can be upgraded to a Terrain Manipulator, allowing it to bore directly through the earth.

But probably the most prominent feature The Minotaur has is a powerful jetpack that allows it to soar and slide across the planet, bringing speed and excitement to planetary traversal!

You can also play with Mechs via PlayStation VR and Steam VR, and in that scenario, you are directly inside the cockpit of the Minotaur. Along with the Echo Mechs, this update also brings some other new technologies for Echocraft - they can now be upgraded with solar panels to recharge their engines during daylight. Signal Boosters are also improved, and not their scan reveals all nearby points of interest.

Finally, the update came with a plethora of quality of life improvement and bug fixes.
