Japanese publisher Square Enix announced that the Kingdom Hearts franchise will finally head to Steam in 2024. The franchise, which has been available on PC via the Epic Games Store for the past three years, will see players experience Sora's fabled journey across multiple entries.
The Japanese publisher also confirmed which titles players can expect to be available on Steam alongside an official release date. As of this writing, several Kingdom Hearts games are available for purchase on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Games Store.
Square Enix announced on 20th May 2024 that several games from the Kingdom Hearts franchise will be available on PC via Steam, launching on 13th June 2024. According to an announcement post, players will get to "experience the Dark Seeker Saga and play through Sora's humble beginnings on the idyllic Destiny Islands, his fateful meeting with Donald Duck and Goofy, and ultimately to the trio's climactic battle against the forces of darkness."
As for which Kingdom Hearts games will arrive on Steam, Square Enix confirmed the following titles and outlined some additional information below:
- Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX
- Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue
- Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind DLC
- Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece
The Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 will release on Steam with "textural updates to its graphics" while acquiring either the Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind DLC or Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece will reward players with the platform-exclusive reward, Keyblade: "Dead of Night." Lastly, the Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece is a collection of the abovementioned games that will be available on Steam and acquiring this collection will grant them a new platform-exclusive reward at launch.
