After years of waiting, the day has finally come - Final Fantasy 7 Remake launched yesterday, making millions of fans across the globe happy that they can once again visit their favourite childhood game, but now with a modern look and feel.
For this occasion, Yoshinori Kitase, Final Fantasy 7 Remake producer and one of the Square Enix veterans who's with the company for almost 30 years, made a video called "Launch Message for Fan," where he wanted to explain a few things about the game mechanics and their overall vision of this remake.
Nothing out of the ordinary, we see a lot of these kinds of videos, especially from Japanese developers who often want to express their feelings about the game's launch personally. Except for the fact that this video had one small thing that made PC gamers cry out of happiness. When the gameplay was shown, it was with the caption at the bottom that says "Gameplay captured on PC", which undoubtedly confirms that PC version of the game exists, since this message comes directly from the developer.
It is especially strange to see this message on a video for the PlayStation 4 version of the game. They probably wanted to show the game's best possible appearance, which is not possible with the PS4 version, that now has a quite outdated system.
Square Enix never really officially announced a PC version of the game, but we know from earlier this year that Final Fantasy 7 Remake is timed PS4 exclusive for a year. That exclusivity end in April 2021, so maybe that's the date when we're getting PC and other versions?
