Original story:
After previous rumours indicated Far Cry 6 would be announced in July, it seems the title’s existence has been leaked early on the PlayStation Store.
Cover art and information about Far Cry 6 was leaked on the Hong Kong PlayStation Store, which claims the game will release on 18th February 2021.
The exciting part is it will star Giancarlo Esposito, who is known for playing Gus Fring in Breaking Bad and was recently seen in The Mandalorian.
According to a description on the page, the actor will play the dictator of Yara, in what’s described as “the largest Far Cry playground to date across jungles, beaches and Esperanza the capital city of Yara”.

An official description for the title reads: “Welcome to Yara, a tropical paradise frozen in time. As the dictator of Yara, Anton Castillo is intent on restoring his nation back to its former glory by any means, with his son, Diego, following in his bloody footsteps.
“Their ruthless oppression has ignited a revolution.”

The leak claims players will control Dani Rojas, a local Yaran who becomes a guerrilla fighter to liberate the nation.
A free upgrade to PlayStation 5 for those who purchase the PS4 version is also described, indicating Sony will similarly follow suit with Microsoft's Smart Delivery offer.
Esposito recently teased he’d been involved in a video game franchise during an interview with Collider, so it’s certainly looking like Far Cry 6 is what he was talking about.
Following the leak, speculation has now turned to whether Diego shown in the image could be a young version of Vaas - the iconic villain from Far Cry 3.

This is down to a scar they both have in the eyebrows. It isn't the only evidence though, with actor Michael Mando recently teasing a potential return to the character earlier this year in a Reddit AMA.
“Vaas is my spirit animal - having co-created that character is something that will always be dear to me. I still get recognised as Vaas, and I still feel the outpouring of love for that character - makes me very happy,” Mando wrote.
“Who knows… maybe I will reprise the role very soon?”
Ubisoft has yet to officially confirm anything around Far Cry 6 at the moment, with the game likely to be featured as part of the upcoming Ubisoft Forward presentation on 12th July.
