The first Disney & Marvel Games Showcase, part of the D23 Expo 2022 celebrations, showcased newly released and upcoming video games from the Disney banner. The studios teamed up with other third-party developers to reimagine iconic Disney-owned properties, characters, and new perspectives in existing worlds.

Everything Revealed At Disney & Marvel Games Showcase 2022
The gaming showcase, which ran for around 25 minutes, highlighted various gaming titles from Disney Games, Marvel Games, Lucasfilm Games, Pixar, and more. Here are all the biggest announcements made at the first-ever Disney & Marvel Games Showcase:
TRON: Identity
Bithell Games (Thomas Was Alone, John Wick Hex) and Disney Games are collaborating on a brand new project set in the TRON universe. TRON: Identity is a narrative-based visual novel game where players will enter a new Grid, uncover secrets by solving Identity Disc puzzles and forge their course.

The trailer only confirmed a PC release via Steam; gamers can add it to their Wish List, but there is currently no word if it will release on console. Furthermore, the developer plan to release the game in 2023, but no exact release date has been revealed.
Illusion Island
Disney Games will bring their iconic mascots, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy, for a brand new experience for the Nintendo Switch console. Illusion Island is a co-op platform game that sees the group travel to a new world where they’ll help out Monoth recover mystical books to prevent an apocalyptic-like event from happening.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns
The tactical RPG from 2K and Firaxis Games, Marvel’s Midnight Suns, announced its release date during the gaming showcase. Initially slated for an October release until it was pushed back, the developers confirmed that it would instead release on 2nd December 2022 for PC and console with a series of animated prequel shorts announced during the live stream.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga - Galactic Edition
Lucasfilm Games’ critically acclaimed action-adventure game LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is receiving a re-release this year. The Galactic Edition expansion will include the base game and 13 Character expansion packs from various Star Wars titles, including The Clone Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Rogue One, and The Mandalorian.
Some characters joining the game include The Clone Wars’ Captain Rex, Inquisitor Reva Sevander from Obi-Wan Kenobi, and the charismatic Rebel Cassian Andor from Rogue One and the upcoming Andor series.
These inclusions will see the game feature over 400 playable characters; however, if players already own the base game, they’ll purchase the Character Collection bundle or the Character Packs separately.
Marvel SNAP
Marvel Games and Nuverse’s card battler game, Marvel SNAP, received a global release date at the Disney & Marvel Games Showcase. The superhero card game, Marvel’s answer to Hearthstone, will launch on PC and mobile devices on 8th October 2022, with pre-registration still live for players to join the battle.
Untitled Captain America & Black Panther Game
The newly formed Skydance New Media, headed by industry legend Amy Hennig (Uncharted), revealed an exclusive first look into their first game. The untitled Marvel game was given a teaser trailer that showed Marvel heroes Captain America and Black Panther facing off against H.Y.D.R.A.
Set in Paris during World War II, not much was teased or revealed about the gameplay or a potential release date. However, the game’s reveal accompanied a tagline, “Four Heroes. Two Worlds. One War,” suggesting that four main characters will be playable in this upcoming game.
Marvel World of Heroes
Marvel Games is teaming up with Pokémon GO developer Niantic for a brand new Augmented Reality (AR) game. Marvel World of Heroes appears to be similar to Pokémon GO but trading Marvel characters for pocket monsters; nothing more has been confirmed except a 2023 release for mobile devices.
