Cult of the Lamb's new free Unholy Alliance update will be released alongside a paid DLC called The Pilgrim Pack on 12 August, developers announced today. Pilgrim is an "interactive digital comic" from the likes of CoTL developer Massive Monster, writer JoJo Zhou and artist Cales Dalmau.
It's a brand-new adventure that will "show the world of Cult of the Lamb as you’ve never seen it before," developers say, even featuring all-new characters. In the new story, players join characters Jalala and Rinor in their own journey across the Lands of the Old Faith. As they look for a new home, they'll encounter and fight Cultists, unsettling creatures, and even a wicked beast.

The Pilgrim Pack includes lots of new content in addition to the new characters, including:
- The full Pilgrim story and bonus pages
- Two unique Follower quests
- Five new Follower forms
- Two new outfits for your Followers to wear
- Five new decorations
Some of the content in the Pilgrim Pack, like new Follower forms, outfits, and decorations, can be used in the main CoTL game. The newly announced DLC joins the game alongside the Unholy Alliance update, which also promises a new character and a highly-requested feature: local co-op.
Both the free Unholy Alliance update and the paid Pilgrim updates are available for PC, Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S starting 12 August. The Pilgrim Pack will be available for $6.99 on Steam and $8.99 on consoles.
