If you play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone and you wanted to squeeze the maximum out of double XP weekend, you might have encountered some problems.
During the weekend many players had problems with finding their matches and matchmaking times were unusually long, which might have been the result of tens of millions of people trying to play the game.
There were also issues with not being able to enter the game, random errors, disrupted connections, etc. It was generally not a seamless experience as you would like to be.
Infinity Ward worked hard in trying to solve those issues but some of them were quite resisting and immune to problem-solving. To compensate players for a bad experience during the double weekend, Infinity Ward decided the prolong the Double XP period throughout the whole week, until Friday 8th May.

This means that players will be able to receive 2XP, 2X Weapon XP, and 2X Tiers up until this Friday, so plenty of time to farm that XP, providing you have time in real-life, but given that it's quarantine still in effect, probably many players will still have enough time to get the maximum out of Double XP event.
As a token of our appreciation for your patience while we worked on a few bugs over the weekend, we’ve turned on 2XP, 2X Weapon XP, and 2X Tiers, live now until Friday, May 8th! pic.twitter.com/R1Vjbyp1KS
