An announcement was published by Psyonix on Wednesday regarding the all-new Player Anthems.
Anthems were previously reported to be only a part of goal explosions, but that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.
According to the piece, Player Anthems will “play throughout the Arena for all players when you score a goal, pull off an Epic Save, or receive MVP honours at the end of a match.”
How to unlock Rocket League Player Anthems
The following are the first five songs available across all platforms and players beginning Season 2. These songs are of Common rarity, the rest will have to be unlocked through drops, the Item Shop or the Rocket Pass Free and Premium:
-
"Angel Wings" - by Mike Ault feat. Avianna Acid
-
"Flying Forever" - by Mike Ault feat. Morgan Perry
-
"I Can Be" - by Mike Ault feat. Crysta
-
"Love Thru the Night" - by Mike Ault
-
"We Speak Chinese" - by Mike Ault and Abandoned Carnival
The announcement was met with pushback from the Rocket League community, having more questions raised than answered regarding Player Anthems.

Players wonder if anthems will have their own volume bar, so main menu music can be muted while still listening to the anthems in-game. The answer most likely will be yes, in a way. It is safe to assume that anthems will fall into the category of “ambient” or “gameplay” instead of your regular “music volume”.

Another community concern is how close epic saves and actual goals are from each other during in-game situations. Back to back epic saves or even an epic save followed by a 50/50 goal could end up in overlapping of anthems, creating an unpleasant start for the new feature.
Player anthems are Psyonix’s newest push for player customization, we just hope that players’ voices are heard over the music.
Rocket League Season 2 is going live on 8th December at 4 pm PDT / 12 am UTC 9th December.
