Rocket League Championship Series is now bigger than ever -- literally. Organisers have made official the expansion to three more regions for the upcoming 2021-22 season.
Effective immediately, RLCS will be having a total of eight regions competing for regionals, majors and the long-awaited World Championship.
RLCS expands esports to Asia, Middle East and North Africa
These are all the regions that will be competing in the RLCS:
- North America
- South America
- Europe
- Oceania
- Asia-Pacific North
- Asia-Pacific South
- Middle East and North Africa (MENA)
- Sub-Saharan Africa*
The Sub-Saharan region will not be officially competing in the RLCS but will have the opportunity to lock two World Championship Wild Card spots.
These regions include countries such as Saudi Arabia, India and Japan. The addition of India was foreseen after Psyonix added a specific server for their country only a couple of days before the region expansion announcement.
All regions will be following the Fall, Winter and Spring Split with varying formats, prize pools and circuit points.
Following this recent change, Rocket League esports has successfully expanded to seven regions. Fans can expect worldwide competitions in the upcoming Fall Major, the first car soccer LAN event in almost two years.
