As two of the all-time top-rated VR games, it's no surprise that Moss and Moss: Book II have been re-released on the newly released PSVR 2, and with both games taking advantage of all the mechanics the device offers, it remains one of my absolute favorite VR titles.
With a unique take on a first-person cooperative adventure, players will accompany a young mouse by the name of Quill on her journey throughout the forest and beyond. As 'the Reader,' you will travel with Quill to beautiful landscapes, solve puzzles, and defeat merciless enemies while experiencing an emotional-yet-engrossing story.
Admittedly, Moss: Book II is the better of the two games, but only because Book II expands on everything great within the first and makes it an almost perfect experience. Book II starts where Moss ended, so you need to have played the first to understand what is going on, and that's why it's great that you can purchase the two games as a bundle on PSVR 2.
The PSVR 2 versions of both games have some pretty great updates, including improved haptics in both the sense controllers and the headset itself, adaptive trigger support, eye tracking, foveated rendering, and increased field of view as well as general lighting and visual improvements.
It has to be said that the games themselves are a little on the short side, with little-to-no replayability factor. But the experience had within each of them is like no other. They're emotional, adorable, and wholesome, and I'm not sure I've ever connected with a character in VR as I did with Quill. For real, I just wanted to pick her up and hug her.
