In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you play as a student trainer who goes to school. You go to classes while you are on your very own Pokemon adventure. That means because of the school rules, you are required to wear a school uniform.

The school uniform's default outfit comes with a hat. There are also multiple hats that you can buy throughout the game. But if you are tired of seeing your character wear a hat while you are catching Pokemon, then you can easily take off the hat. Here, we go over exactly how you can take off the hat in Scarlet and Violet.

Taking Off Your Hat In Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

When you start Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, one of the many things you will receive is an adventure guide. The adventure guide is a book granted to you to help you understand the basics of movement, your controls in the overworld, and other instructions.

One of the instructions tells you that while you are out adventuring, you can change clothes at any time. To do so, all you have to do is push the left button on your d-pad on your controller.

Once you do that, you will be able to change your clothes around. You can customize your outfit to look different while still adhering to your school uniform. Once you have entered the clothing menu, you can scroll over to the hats section. Here, you can select any hat that you might have bought to wear.

If you look carefully, you will see that there are instructions to take off your hat. All you need to do is press the X button here to remove your hat. Do that, and the hat is off your character.

Other Ways To Remove The Hat In Scarlet & Violet

Although this is the easiest way to take off your hat in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, there are other ways that you can take it off while you are adventuring. As you might know, there are many clothing stores in the Paldea region. Most of the time, they specialize in one type of clothing.

You can go to a hat store and browse various hats in the store. While you are there, you can actually try on and take off your hat in the stores as well. With that being said, you can actually leave the store without the hat you were previously wearing.
